# Backlink Gap

It finds referring domains that link to your selected competitor domains and compares them with your own backlink profile.

### 1.  How do I run a search?

1. Enter your domain.
2. Click the Competitors field to add competitors.
3. In the pop-up window, enter 1 to 3 competitor domains.
4. Click Confirm.
5. Select the Mode you want to use for generating results.
6. Click Submit.

### 2. What search parameters are required?

* target\_domain – your domain.
* competitor\_domains – one or more competitor domains (1–3).

### 3.  What does the Mode parameter do?

The Mode determines which referring domains are included in the results based on whether they link to your target\_domain and/or the selected competitor\_domains.

* Best (default) – Referring domains that link to one or more competitors but not to your target domain.
* Shared – Referring domains that link to both your target domain and one or more competitors.
* Strong – Referring domains that link to your target domain but not to any competitor domains.
* Unique – Referring domains that link to exactly one domain in the selected set (either only your target domain or only one specific competitor).
* All – All referring domains that link to at least one domain in the selected set.

### 4. How do I purchase a placement on a discovered domain?

Click the Buy button next to the desired domain. It will be added to your Guest Post cart.
